Der Mittelstand. BVMW
The BVMW is the largest voluntarily organized entrepreneurs’ association for the German Mittelstand. It represents mid-sized companies and advocates for their interests. Within an alliance of associations, it represents the shared economic, social and socio-political interests of 32 employers’ and business associations with more than 900,000 entrepreneurial voices. The BVMW has 300 offices throughout Germany, which connect mid-sized companies with more than 800,000 direct contacts per year. The BVMW is supported by a political advisory board of outstanding political figures and is both a partner and a critic of politics. With over 2,000 annual events for entrepreneurs, the BVMW forms a strong networking platform.
In his role as press spokesman and political representative for Bavaria, Achim von Michel has represented DER MITTELSTAND – BVMW since 2007 to media representatives as well as to municipal and state-wide politics. His tasks include, among other things, the coordination and implementation of all media relations, the organization of political events on a cross-party basis, and active lobbying work as a policy consultancy in Munich for the interests of the German Mittelstand.
