UNAIDS
Global media relations and event delivery for the United Nations
Around 15,000 delegates attended the 25th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2024), which opened on 22 July at the Munich exhibition centre. AIDS 2024 brought together thousands of people living with and affected by HIV, and those working on the response, to share knowledge, best practice and lessons from four decades of HIV work and from health threats such as COVID-19 and mpox. UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, presented its annual Global Report to the international press. The Geneva-based organisation commissioned WORDUP PR to prepare and stage the hybrid press conference in Munich. The WORDUP PR team also supported the UNAIDS communications experts with media liaison before, during and after the press conference.
Following earlier projects for the German Federal Government and the European Patent Office, the United Nations became the third major governmental or supranational client to work with WORDUP PR. Planning and delivering this flagship event drew heavily on years of experience with technically demanding hybrid formats that also meet high production standards.
