As a PR agency with a strong information technology practice, WORDUP handles media relations, public affairs and event work for SpaceNet AG. The Munich internet service provider SpaceNet AG helps IT managers and directors build resilient corporate IT, keep it running and develop it strategically. A key focus is advising on and implementing IT security solutions and business continuity management. SpaceNet offers managed IT services, individual support for non-standard applications, 24/7 service, personal consultancy and secure cloud services such as the collaboration tool Zamadama and the VCT video conferencing system.

SpaceNet is one of the industry’s internet pioneers, founded in 1993 by Sebastian von Bomhard, who has led the company ever since — today alongside Sebastian Cler, Maja v. Bomhard and Karin Schuler. The Munich company employs more than 100 people. SpaceNet has placed a strong emphasis on vocational training since 1998 and has repeatedly been recognised as a certified IHK training company. It serves around 1,200 organisations, including Antenne Bayern and the Munich transport authority MVV.

SpaceNet AG has been active in digital policy for many years, most recently winning a six-year legal challenge against Germany’s contested data retention rules. In autumn 2022 the European Court of Justice struck down blanket, suspicionless data retention in its widely reported “SpaceNet ruling”.

The SpaceNet family of companies includes brück IT GmbH, a systems house specialising in services and software for law firms.

SpaceNet AG runs its cloud and IT services from several redundant high-security data centres in Munich. The company is certified to ISO 27001 and works to ITIL standards. Every two years it presents a respected cultural prize, the SpaceNet Award.
