For the third consecutive year, we have been advising Munich-based SpaceNet AG, a leading managed service and security service provider that operates its own data centers and offers AI hosting services. In addition to its proven IT expertise spanning decades, SpaceNet is distinguished by its significant commitment to culture—a dedication showcased every two years through the SpaceNet Award. This renowned German literature and photography competition has now honored its winners for the seventh time.
Short stories and photos in the jury’s focus
Under this year’s theme, “Solution,” the six-member jury reviewed more than 1,400 entries. The five best short stories and images were honored at a festive gala attended by around 120 guests.
Corad Petersen won the competition for the best short story. He impressed the jury with his piece “…bis er bricht” (“…until he breaks”), a timely story that focuses on bullying and systemic failure.
The prize for the best image went to Lui Rogier for his work “OKAY GOOGLE.” The graphic designer hails from Roßbrunn near Würzburg and now lives near Stuttgart.
SpaceNet founder and board member Sebastian v. Bomhard—who launched the award in 2014 to mark the company’s 20th anniversary—personally congratulated the many winners present at the event and emphasized in his keynote speech: “What began as an initiative for our 20th anniversary has evolved into an established platform for narrative and visual discovery. Time and again, we are surprised by people’s creativity and the sheer range of the texts and images submitted.”
